Nine board of directors, elected by members, determine the policies and procedures of the Cooperative. At the annual meeting held each year in June, directors are elected and are the resulting voice in establishing how the Cooperative operates. Members vote annually to elect directors. Ballots are mailed to members in May to elect three directors each year. This year's election culminated on Saturday June 16th. Election results are below.
Crow Wing Power Annual Meeting Has Record Attendance
An estimated 3500 people attended the 71st annual Crow Wing Power Member Appreciation Day and Annual Meeting Saturday, June 14, 2008. The total number of ballots cast in this year’s board election was 6,517. Three incumbents were re-elected to the board. Bette Mezzenga from Crosslake received 6,019 votes. Gert Roggenkamp, Nisswa received 4,383 votes running against Lakmini Kidder who got 2,011 votes and Dwight Thiesse received 4,740 votes over Mary Marana with 1,673 votes. After the annual meeting the board held their re-organizational meeting where Bette Mezzenga was re-elected as president. Vice president is Gert Roggenkamp; Kay Blais, secretary and Gordon Martin, treasurer.
