It’s fun, it’s informative and it’s back again this year! Crow Wing Power invites our members to tour Basin Electric near Bismark, North Dakota, October 3 - 5.
The cost is $120 per person and includes two nights lodging in Bismarck, 4 meals, good company and a terrific time. Seating is limited to 50 people.
Basin Electric Power, one of our wholesale power providers, is one of the largest electric generation and transmission cooperatives in the United States.
While there we will tour . . .
- Coteau Properties (Freedom Mine) – This mine delivers more than 16 million tons of coal per year, making it the largest lignite mine in the United States in deliveries.
- Dakota Gasification Company – This plant produces natural gas from coal and by products of the coal gasification process.
- Antelope Valley Station – A coal-fired electric generating station with a capacity of 900,000 kilowatts.
- Wilton Wind Farm – An 8,000 acre wind farm which produces enough power for 30,000 homes.
