Crow Wing Power has announced the results of its 2024 board elections during the Annual Business Meeting held at Forest View Middle School. The cooperative welcomes two new directors and the re-election of a board member.
LuAnn Nelson has been re-elected as the Director representing District 2 At-Large, receiving 2,031 votes. Nelson was followed by Thomas M. Lillehei with 1,396 votes and Greg Booth with 1,387 votes. Jon Lubke will represent District 1A after garnering 2,730 votes, surpassing Fredrick R. Hage who received 2,059. David Albers will join the board for District 3B, securing 1,564 votes over Ben Bernatsky (1,358 votes), James Mecklenburg (949 votes), and Randy H. Winscher (913 votes).
Crow Wing Power has 41,128 eligible voters, with 11.87% participating in this year's election. Members received their ballots in mid-May and could vote by returning their paper ballot, using an online QR code, or through their online electric accounts. Survey & Ballot Systems of Eden Prairie facilitated the voting process and served as election judges.
The Annual Business Meeting, attended by approximately 58 members, featured key updates and recognitions. Board President Ronnei honored outgoing board member Bob Kangas with a plaque, thanking him for his 27 years of dedicated service, many of which he served as Chair.
Interim CEO Eric Quale provided an overview of the cooperative's 2023 reliability statistics, noting improvements from the previous year. Quale also updated members on Green Mandates and other operational insights. CFO Susannah Jensen shared financial highlights from 2023, discussing the cooperative’s long-term debt and blended interest rate. The board also presented preliminary plans for the search for a new CEO and other cooperative business updates.
