During their fourth quarterly meeting, the Crow Wing Power Community Trust Board donated about $54,000 from its Operation Round-Up® program to the following community organizations:
$4,500 to Youth Investment/Timber Bay; $500 to Merrifield Marathons; $500 to Deerwood Senior Dance club; $500 to Bethel South Long Lake quilters; $5,000 to Cuyuna Range Youth Center, $2,500 to Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol; $4,000 to Crisis Line and Referral; $750 to Quilts of Honor; $4,000 to Breath of Life Adult Day Service; $2,000 for Morrison County United Way; $5,000 to Bi-County Community Action; $500 to Pine River Chamber; $5,000 to Advocates Against Domestic Abuse HOPE; $5,000 to Bridges of Hope for the Warming Shelter and another $5,000 for the Common Goods expansion project; $1,000 to True North Ministries; $5,000 to Bridges Workplace Connection; $3,000 to Smiles for Jake and $500 to Northern Lakes Vets and Friends support.
Since Operation Round-Up®’s inception in late 1996, more than $4.5 million has been donated to community projects and programs in Cass, Crow Wing and Morrison counties. Operation Round Up is funded by participating members of Crow Wing Power who allow the cooperative to round up their electric bills to the nearest whole dollar, an average of fifty cents a month. The additional change is pooled and distributed quarterly.
The next quarterly meeting is scheduled for January 25.
