The Crow Wing Power Community Trust Board met for their third quarter meeting in July and distributed $54,000 to local community programs, making a significant impact. Operation Round-Up® funds were distributed to the following projects:
$3,000 to Lakes Area Restorative Justice; $3,000 to Relationship Safety Alliance; $3,000 for Lutheran Social Service meals program; $500 each to Crosslake Quilters and Patchwork Pals; $3,000 to Kinship of Morrison County and $5,000 to Brainerd Kinship; $2,000 to Brainerd’s Let’s Go Fishing chapter; $3,000 for Second Harvest’s Child Hunger Program; $2,000 to support Lakes Area Chaplaincy; $3,000 for Pohl’s Children Foundation; $3,500 for Emily Care N’ Share Café; $3,000 to the Merrifield St. Vincent DePaul organization; $3,000 to The Warehouse; $3,500 to Mounted Eagles; $1,500 to Brainerd Nordic Ski Club; $2,500 for Northern Pines’ summer program for youth; $3,500 to True Friends special camp; $1,500 to Parker Scout Camp; $1,500 to Legacy Chorale and $1,000 for the CLC Foundation.
Since Operation Round-Up®’s inception in late 1996, more than $4.5 million has been donated to community projects and programs in Cass, Crow Wing and Morrison counties. Operation Round-Up® is funded by participating members of Crow Wing Power who allow the cooperative to round up their electric bills to the nearest whole dollar, an average of fifty cents a month. The additional change is pooled and distributed quarterly.
