Crow Wing Power is informing members about an update to our Dual Fuel heating program as we transition to Basin Electric as our new power supplier. This change brings several positive adjustments, aimed at enhancing your experience while maintaining the program's efficiency and cost benefits.

Unlike the traditional control periods managed by our previous supplier, Dual Fuel control will now only occur during electric grid constraints, specific requests from Basin Electric, or for testing purposes. Currently, we do not anticipate significant grid impacts, which means control periods during winter months should be minimal.

For cost-saving opportunities, control may take place in September and May. Additionally, Crow Wing Power will conduct control tests during the winter to ensure compliance and confirm the system functions properly when needed.

Program requirements remain unchanged. Members must maintain an automatic non-electric backup heat source, and only eligible electric heating systems should be connected to the Dual Fuel meter.

Thanks to Basin Electric, members can look forward to less frequent winter controls while continuing to enjoy the special Dual Fuel rate. As we embrace these operational changes, please note that program adjustments may be necessary in the future.

We appreciate your participation in the Dual Fuel program and look forward to providing reliable, affordable energy solutions for years to come!
