Launching its Electric Vehicle (EV) Rebate Program on February 7, 2024, the state aims to incentivize environmentally conscious transportation choices while addressing fiscal concerns. As part of this program, individuals and entities can now apply for rebates, marking a significant step forward in Minnesota's commitment to combatting inflation while fostering a greener future.

Minnesota's EV Rebate Program: What you need to know:

Deadline: The program launched on February 7, 2024, and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Application Requirements: Submit a completed application including your current driver's license, electric utility bill or renter's lease at the time of EV purchase, and purchase agreement or lease.
  • How to Apply: Send your application to MNEVRebate.comm@state.mn.us or call 651-539-1886 for assistance.
  • Rebate Amounts: New EV owners/lessees may receive up to $2,500, while used EV owners can get up to $600.
  • Qualifying EVs: Vehicles must be electric or plug-in hybrid, purchased or leased on or after May 25, 2023, and titled in Minnesota. New vehicles must have a base MSRP of $55,000 or less, while used vehicles must cost $25,000 or less.
