At Crow Wing Power, we believe in the power of community and the profound impact that small acts of generosity can have. Our Operation Round-Up® program exemplifies this spirit by allowing members to round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar, with the extra change going directly to local organizations and initiatives.

In our recent quarter three board meeting, the Crow Wing Power Community Trustees had the honor of reviewing 27 grant applications. They awarded a total of $46,000 to support various community organizations and programs. Since its inception in 1996, Operation Round-Up® has distributed an impressive $4,798,066 in grants, thanks to the collective generosity of our members.

This quarter, Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity received $5,000 to support two house builds in the Baxter area. The LSS Meals Program in Crow Wing County was awarded $4,000, and The Warehouse and Pohl’s Children Foundation, LLC each received $3,000. Brainerd Let's Go Fishing was granted $2,500. Numerous other organizations received grants ranging from $500 to $2,000, supporting initiatives in health and wellbeing, youth and senior education, and crisis emergency relief.

Our board comprises eight dedicated trustees, all of whom are members of Crow Wing Power residing throughout our service territory. These trustees serve three-year terms, with a maximum of six years, and are selected through recommendations from outgoing trustees and approved by the Crow Wing Power Directors.

Operation Round-Up® showcases how small contributions can create significant positive change in our communities. Members are automatically opted in and can opt out at any time by contacting the Cooperative.

The next application deadline for grant funding is October 1, 2024. For more information on how to apply for a grant or learn more about the Operation Round-Up® program, visit cwpower.com/operation-round-up
