The impact of Operation Round-Up® goes far beyond a single grant cycle.

During the second quarter of 2026, Crow Wing Power’s Operation Round-Up® Board of Trustees awarded more than $40,000 to local non-profit organizations and community initiatives throughout the Cooperative’s service territory. In addition, 11 graduating high school seniors each received $1,000 scholarships to support their educational journeys after graduation.

Since the program began in 1996, Operation Round-Up® has returned more than $5 million directly back into local communities across Crow Wing, Cass, and Morrison counties.

That incredible milestone is only possible because of the generosity of Crow Wing Power members. Today, approximately 87% of members voluntarily participate by rounding up their electric bill to the nearest dollar each month — averaging about $6 per year per member. While the individual contribution may seem small, together those donations create meaningful local impact that supports nonprofits, emergency assistance programs, education, youth opportunities, community projects, and much more.

Operation Round-Up® is entirely member-funded and member-led. The program is overseen by a nine-member Board of Trustees made up of Crow Wing Power members who live throughout the Cooperative’s service territory and carefully review applications each quarter.

For members who wish to opt out of the voluntary program, they may complete the opt-out form available through Crow Wing Power or contact the Cooperative directly.

Crow Wing Power is incredibly thankful for the continued support of members who choose to participate in Operation Round-Up® and help strengthen the communities we all call home.
